Submission
Throughout the final term2 assignment, the creation of the magazine, I endeavoured to make the most of what I had learnt over the previous two terms to produce a more creative piece of work.
My first impression throughout this creation was that there was a lack of consistency in the work created in each section. So I had to rework almost every page from scratch. My work may not look like a magazine, to be honest. However, my intention was to create work that would make the viewer want to see more of it and find it interesting. I also wanted to make my work memorable so that viewers would feel a sense of déjà vu with my work in their daily lives. That’s why I chose the theme and name ‘Déjà Vu’.
In creating each page, I considered different methods. As well as digital editing, I actually printed out photos and did collages and drawings, and actively incorporated skills I had learnt in adobe classes, in an effort to ensure that each section did not look the same.
I did a lot of photo editing, but I also wanted to make use of the photos themselves, which I took with my film camera, so I actively incorporated work shot on film. the nostalgia of the vintage feel from film is also connected to the theme `deva vu’.
I tried to improve it right up to the deadline, but we really wanted to try more things. However, I would like to use what I felt and gained from this project to work on the next one. The next time I create a magazine, I would like to start by deciding on the main theme of the magazine, do my research and work on it thoroughly.
