Session 13: Front Covers
Various cover layouts were considered in this session. We created covers to fit each of the two magazines we did in Session 1. The analysis I did in session 1 was very useful for this section. I chose Vogue and Dazed, two very different magazines, so I was able to create images quickly.

First of all, I wanted to create an elegant impression in Vogue, so I chose beautiful, clear photos. We also chose white and clear colours for the background to create a clean and luxurious impression. We also changed the font colours to match each image.

For DAZED, we chose photos that were unique and impactful overall. I also chose a vivid colour palette, which I think matched the magazine’s atmosphere. I also used a proof photo showing me. We came up with ideas to include something unique in the content apart from the title.
I think this session was very important for the impression of the magazine. I think creating different visuals and comparing them to make a decision is the way to create the best cover. I would like to apply today’s experience to my own magazine covers.
