Session 4: Unconventional props styling
In this session, I explored various work possibilities using a variety of props in a limited amount of time with my partner. This shooting was done in two locations, one in a classroom as a studio and the other in a school.
To begin we took photos of the inside of our classroom. We used tape to create a kind of wallpaper. We then used other small objects to create a pop-up feel to the shots. The subject, Hinako, was wearing a red checked skirt and a black top, which matched the red of the tape and the black of the background. Other props were chosen for this shoot for their coloring.

After that, I edited these photo.

At first, the initial red and black colours were used for the editing. However, while editing the colours in Photoshop, I was able to find some biblical colours that fit the image of this photo. The image has a pop image, like an American comic book. The subject has a lot of facial expressions, and we thought there might be a bit of surprise, so we tried to give the processing an overall sense of realism. We aimed to process the image in such a way that it looks 3D with a little bit of movement. Once I had created the composition and colours, I processed it like a stereo TV using different Apps. By doing this, I think I was able to create a more pop atmosphere.
Through this lesson, I realised that unconvential props play a very important role when creating fashion visuals. I thought that by making good use of them, I could further broaden my range of expression. I would like to actively incorporate them in my future shoots.
