Session 2: Creating Looks

In this session, I created 3 looks with my partners. It was difficult to create looks because we had to make not only my own clothes, but from the clothes of whole group.

In preparing for this class I prepared with emphasis on accessories. When we bring clothes with different tastes, it is difficult to combine them to create a theme. However, I thought that accessories can be used in a variety of ways, as these greatly help with it.

In actually coming up with the look, we struggled. In everyday life I first choose the main item. From there I combine items that go with it, but in this time it was difficult because I had to choose from the items of all members in my group. The style could be too low-impact or, too uncoordinated. So we repeated a lot of combinations. It was very exciting to combine each person’s sensibilities to create a style that I could not have thought of on my own. We tried different things, such as using skirts as tops, wearing arm warms over boots to make them look like fur, and layering the skirts. Our common understanding at the time of creation was ‘interesting look’.

These looks has been completed.

Each was styled separately, but the overall style was coherent. Even int the photography of each look, the aim was to create a sense of wonder, rather than a standard format. It was difficult to find places to take photos in the limited environment of the school, but we were able to take photos in locations that suited each look and allowed us to take a wide variety of photos.

These are editing outcomes. I have tried to edit the photography i such a way that a common theme can be felt.

These are SDS tasks.
