Adobe Session 4

In this session, I could get skill of creating format with creativity.

1.How well could you complete the class tasks working on your own? Were you able to adapt working on InDesign?

The task of this class, formatting an article, allowed me to do what I had always wondered how this was done when I looked at magazines. The method was simple and easy to do, but the shapes to insert the text had to be done manually, and it was difficult to insert the text neatly. One of the letters was enlarged, but I thought it was also a task that required a lot of care to make the path along the letter so that it was large enough. As a result, I was able to complete the task properly.

2.How does it make you see design/art differently? What else do you want to explore on your own?

The format I did this time was very simple, and I would like to try more difficult formats. Personally, I am mot good reader of text, and I tend to look only at visuals, even in magazines. I think simple formats are very easy to read, but I think that if the format is interesting and eye-catching, readers will be more inclined to read it. Therefore, in order to create such new formats, I would like to record the formatting of texts and advertisements that I see on a regular basis.

3.As a result of today’s session, what might you do differently next time?

I want to experiment more with colors and fonts. I would like to try difficult types of formatting according to the content of the article, etc. (Like the format formed in the shape of dog, as found in the analysis of DAZED.)

4.What were some of your limitations when you are working digitally?

With digital, it is difficult to find the ideal shape, font, color, etc. that I want to aim for. I always draw by hand before going digital and then develop it. Therefore, there are many changes from the original draft, and it took me a long time to get close to the ideal this time.

I also created these magazine’s pages in Flipnack. Through this works I could get skill of seeing magazine on digital. It was difficult to construct the system. But obtaining this technology made it possible to create a revolutionary digital magazine.
