Adobe Session 3
This time is my first time to use InDesign. It was so useful to create a magazine format. In this session, I could learn the basic skills to make magazine pages.
1.How well could you complete the class tasks working on your own? Were you able to adapt working on InDesign?
I was able to work on this task with relative ease. I have been using Illustration and Photoshop applications quite often for some time, so I understood how to perform basic operations. In particular, there was a regularity in the way I designed, so understanding how to operate one way made it easier to control similar operations. Among the new operations I learned, creating page’s number was was a little difficult. In order to make all pages the same size and position, it is necessary to learn how to do it correctly. So I practiced several times so that I could remember the procedure well.
2.How does it make you see design/art differently? What else do you want to explore on your own?
This class was designed to give me the essential skills needed to create a magazine. I ‘m sure I will continue to use them in the future as I create magazines. Therefore, I felt the need to analyze more magazines for further design exploration. Looking at different magazines is very helpful in examining many formats and designs.
3.As a result of today’s session, what might you do differently next time?
I would like to change the format. Most magazines are usually created in A4 vertical format, but I would like to challenge myself to create in various sizes and shapes without breaking that mold. I would like to use not only InDesign but also various other applications to create more creative magazines in the future.
